Before the Altar

imageA couple months back, I was blessed to design a cover for  a friend’s book. The book – Before the Altar, by Luis Garcia – is now published!

I haven’t read it yet, but from the bit he’s shared with me, and the synopsis, it’s up on the top of my current to-read list. Anybody want to join me?

Here’s the blurb on the publisher’s website:

Biblical purity is not merely a line we are called not to cross; it is a lifestyle we are called to live. It is more than physical restraint. True purity involves our minds, motives, and actions.

Culture says to follow your heart. Scripture says follow God. It is time we start living like Jesus’ followers in every area of our lives, sold out for His glory. Romance and love are no exception.

Books written on the topics of romance, singleness, and purity are looking back, but I am looking forward. I have never dated or kissed, and I’m eighteen. Most people my age have already dated, kissed, and lost their virginity; some have even experienced pregnancy. For young adults, divorce and cohabitation rates are beyond acceptable. Abortion numbers have amassed to over nine holocausts. And I am compelled to stand in the gap. If no one makes a stand, we can only expect even worse consequences to come.

It’s time to stop playing in the muck of this world and slapping a Christian label on it. We need to be resolute in surrendering our lives to the authorship of God. And that surrender starts now—before the altar.

I’m told it will also be available through Amazon and Barnes & Noble shortly, so I’ll update this post with a link to that when it happens.

Hope you all have a fabulous day… Gotta get back to work now, busy day! Any prayers you want to offer up for me in the next couple months would be greatly appreciated – I’m up to my neck, but so grateful for the work!

Grace and peace in our Lord Jesus Christ!

A Princess

The past year, I’ve been so busy drawing children’s books, I’ve hardly had time to work on anything else. But a few late nights I been able to do something for fun! This was a quick drawing for my youngest sister’s birthday. At some point in time I would love to illustrate a children’s book on mixed-race families… but for now, just the adorableness of her.

Dr. Craig’s What is God Like?

Hello,

Over the past few months I have had the privilege of illustrating a series of ten children’s books for Dr. William Lane Craig (of Reasonable Faith).

These small books walk young children through the attributes of God – his nature, his presence and his character – through the conversations of an unusual animal family. It’s an incredible opportunity to instruct children in Christian theology from a very young age. My prayer is that these books would allow children to echo the psalmist, “Since my youth, O God, you have taught me, and to this day I declare your marvelous deeds.” – Psalm 71:17

The first two in this series are now available on Amazon. Lord willing, the remaining eight books will be available over the next several months. Your prayers are coveted as I continue to work.

Here is a glimpse of the book illustrations (sans text, sorry!). You can order God is Spirit here, and God is Everywhere here.

Thank you all – grace and peace to you in our Lord Jesus Christ!
